Bess White, MPH, MS

Bess White is the founder of Bluebird Philanthropy Advisors. At Bluebird, Bess brings a unique and valuable knowledgebase to clients looking to grow their philanthropy. Bess serves on the board of her family’s foundation where a philanthropic strategy has been developed to align family giving with family values, creating an opportunity for meaningful conversations centered around wealth and values. She advises professional foundations and giving coalitions on grant evaluation, due diligence and distribution strategy.

As a fundraiser, Bess has raised over $35 million dollars for organizations by developing partnerships between nonprofits and donors that maximize gift impact. She is Executive Director of Elderabuse.org, a foundation supporting elder justice and elder abuse prevention, and is head of Special Projects in Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. She has guest taught courses on fundraising at Columbia University, and completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, bringing evidence-based frameworks to further the reach of philanthropy and nonprofit organizations.
